Main drive of the mine fans
The VO fans are equipped with variable-frequency drive based on induction short-circuit motors and thyristor frequency converters.
Variation of frequency and value of the feeding voltage can widely control the rotation frequency of the motors.
The adjustable electric drive based on the up-to-date thyristor frequency converters (TFC) provides the following basic functions:
- Smooth shock-free start and stop of the motors with the set speed,
- Control of rotation frequency in the set range of adjustment,
- All necessary protections of the motor,
- Connection and disconnection from the network via shock-free switching to the network of the smoothly accelerated motor, and at disconnection from the network – with pickup of the running out motor and a smooth stop,
- Setting and measurement of the parameters, indication, diagnostics of the malfunctions.
Application of the TFC allows:
- To decrease the starting currents and to remove negative consequences from the current rushes,
- To optimize the energy consumption,
- To increase significantly the motor and the fan service lives.
- Rating values of the main drive electric equipment are selected individually according to the fan operating mode.
Composition of the fan installations adjustable drive:
- High-voltage distribution device,
- Induction motor,
- ASC drive,
- Power transformer,
- System of automated control and supervision.
